Wow- a vibe kept me away from Google Plus, and it's a good thing I did, as should everyone. The linked article provides an exceptional overview and analysis of the problems plaguing personal-data ownership. This article will give me nightmares, in a Matrix-sort-of way. If Google is capable of doing this, then governmental "Big Brothers" are very, very real. Ever heard of DARPA?

Have you read the comments on this article? It's amazing how many people say they "don;t care" that google has their info because they "want it to" so it can give them better results... call me weird but I don't need a computer to tell me which restaurant I will like, I can look them up myself and decide on my own. AN end to decision making, anyone?
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment, Jo. How's your neck? - ref: Facebook entries... ;)
DeleteWell, I certainly was amazed there are so many apathetic folks willing to let a computer program own the decision-making process. Smacks of "Wall-e" -like complacency. Yuck - think I'll go rent a small cabin in the woods and write from my old typewriter. That's been done, hasn't it?
